Dear Members,
As we all are aware that unprecedented floods have caused havoc in one of our country’s State Jammu & Kashmir. A large number of people have been affected by the floods. Property and infrastructure worth crores of rupees have been damaged. Our fellow countrymen in Jammu & Kashmir need our help at this critical hour to tide over the calamity and to rebuild their lives.
Previously when such type of calamity arose in parts of India WIFPA had always extend its helping hand precisely to inform “Gharwal earthquake in 1992” WIFPA donated Rs.51,000/- to U.P Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In 1996 Rs.25,000/- was donated to Gujarat CM Relief Fund as a help for flood affected people in Gujarat and clothes & blankets were sent to Bihar for the flood affected people in Bihar.
In 1999 WIFPA donated Rs.1,00,000/- to Army Central Welfare Fund for the Kargil Soldiers and in 2013 WIFPA donated Rs.1,00,000/- to the C.M. of Maharashtra for the draught affected people in Maharashtra and now for the people of Kashmir WIFPA has decided to donate Rs.51,000/- towards rehabilitation of the people in Jammu & Kashmir.
We therefore request all WIFPA members to help the people in Jammu & Kashmir and be part of the national effort to support them in this hour of crisis by donating generously to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. Cheques/D.Draft drawn on “Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund” to be forwarded to WIFPA office and shall be collectively forwarded to the Prime Minister.
